The “Eradicate Poverty through Agro-Farming” project is designed to create sustainable, long-term positive change for disadvantaged women living in climate-vulnerable char areas of Bangladesh. By providing she-goats, the project establishes a reliable and ongoing source of income, strengthening household economic security and reducing vulnerability.
Alongside asset support, women receive practical training in homestead gardening and livestock management, equipping them with the skills needed to generate independent income and improve their overall livelihoods. These interventions not only enhance food security but also promote self-reliance and dignity.
The project actively encourages community participation through resource-sharing and collective engagement, ensuring that the benefits extend beyond individual households and continue well after the project period.
To date, this initiative has positively impacted more than 200 people, creating ripple effects across families and communities. By addressing both immediate needs and long-term resilience, the project contributes to key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and strengthens communities’ ability to adapt to climate change—leading to lasting transformation in the vulnerable char regions of Bangladesh.
